Welcome to The Flower House at Goongillings Farm

The Flower House was once used for bunching and packing daffodils for market. It is now one of four popular holiday cottages on a 150 acre organic farm with its own foreshore and private quay on the upper reaches of the Helford River.

The Flower House is a single-storey stone building with a natural slate roof which has been cleverly laid out to make the best use of the available space for for couples and small families and it’s also very well equipped.

The Flower House has a high-beamed living/dining room with a large woodstove, comfortable sofa and chairs, TV with DVD, Hi-Fi with CD, and a dining table seating 5. A huge carved oak chest has always lived in the building and has been allowed to remain!

A fully equipped galley kitchen has handmade fitted pine units, slot-in ceramic top cooker with double oven and grill, dishwasher and microwave. A full range of quality equipment and crockery is supplied.

Tucked away behind the kitchen is a small bathroom with bath, wash basin and WC, as well as a washer/drier and airing cupboard. (Please note: there is no shower in this property).

  • Gas central heating throughout as well as the woodstove, so the Flower House is very snug at any time of the year.
  • Full bed linen and towels provided (we only provide feather pillows so please bring your own if you prefer man-made fibres).
  • Free superfast broadband WiFi all around the farmstead
  • No extra charge for pets but please provide details of your pets when booking.
  • Cot available on request.
  • Plenty of room for parking in our yard, shared with our other holiday cottages.
  • There is a hard tennis court at the farm but we do not provide balls or rackets.
  • We have a large communal area across the yard which all guests can use for playing and picnics.
  • At Scotts Quay, about 0.5 miles walk from the cottage, we provide a variety of ancient (and fairly scruffy) rowing and sailing dinghies for guests to use at their own risk. It’s also a good spot for swimming at high tide.
  • There is a freshwater wildlife lake on the farm.
Around The Helford River and Falmouth

The Helford River is a delightful and unspoilt estuary stretching from the outer edge of Falmouth Bay up to the old port of Gweek. Goongillings Farm sits on a peninsula on its upper reaches with boundaries marked out by Polwheveral Creek and Polpenwith. The two creeks meet at Scotts Quay, beautiful for swimming, boating or just enjoying the peace and quiet.

Just two minutes walk down hill from our farm is the Trengilly Wartha Inn, a lovely friendly pub where you can enjoy a drink and a tasty meal. Towards the mouth of the river the Ferry Boat Inn and the Helford Sailing Club each offer delicious food and a variety of beers with lovely views.
