Lanyon is one of our two newest (2023) self-catering properties. Its versatile accommodation and knock-out views make it a favourite with both families and larger groups looking for a holiday rental in Cornwall.
With a first-floor balcony offering 180-degree views over Porthmeor Beach and St Ives Bay, Lanyon is simply stunning in all weathers.
It is a 3 bedroom, semi-detached, reverse-level property that sleeps 6 people. Lanyon can be booked together with Treen for larger groups (up to 12 people) who wish to holiday together but have separate facilities. (Please note, however, that we don’t accept hen/stag parties or college leaving groups.)
Ground floor
There are three bedrooms on the ground floor.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite shower room, and direct access to the decked garden. The second bedroom has a super king-size zip and link bed (which can be separated into two single beds), and it also enjoys direct access to the decked garden. The third bedroom is to the rear of the property. It has two single beds (which can also be converted into a super king-size bed).
Lanyon’s bedrooms offer guests the flexibility of choosing:
• One king-sized bedroom and two super king-sized bedrooms.
• One king-sized bedroom and two twin bedrooms.
• One king-sized room, one super king-sized room and one twin room.
Whatever you choose, all beds will be made up for you with quality bedding to ensure a good night’s sleep. Towels are provided for use in the house, but please remember to bring beach towels with you.
There are TVs in all the bedrooms, allowing guests the opportunity to escape and enjoy some peace and quiet, if they need it.
You’ll also find the family bathroom on the ground floor. It has a bath with a step-over shower, WC and basin.
A staircase leads to the first floor.
Upstairs
Upstairs, you’ll find an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. The open plan layout of the living space provides more than enough room for everyone to gather – and to help out in the kitchen! There is also an additional shower room on this floor.
The kitchen is to the rear of the space. It is fully equipped with everything you’d need for your self-catering holiday with a double oven, induction hob, built-in microwave, and quartz worktop. The dining area has seating for 6 people and the lounge area is to the front. The lounge has comfy sofas to curl up on with a glass of wine while you watch TV or simply catch up with each other. And there’s a wood burning stove to add some ambience to those cold winter nights.
Sliding doors lead from the lounge to the balcony and the jaw-dropping views over St Ives Bay. Relax out here enjoying your morning cuppa or a sundowner – and everything in between. This is a great space to enjoy spending quality time with family and friends.
The house has underfloor heating with an air source heat pump, and hot water supplemented with solar thermal panels.
During school holidays/peak season Lanyon lets on a weekly basis, from Saturday to Saturday.
Outside
The balcony has a table and chairs and there are also relaxing chairs for guests to sit back and enjoy the panoramic views of the beach and bay. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sun set over the ocean. For those keen to dip their toes in the water, the nearest beach (Porthmeor) is only 10 minutes away on foot. In the decked garden, budding chefs will find a built-in BBQ. If you feel like a night off cooking, however, St Ives has a vibrant culinary scene. You’ll find a wide range of restaurants, cafes and pubs that serve fresh seafood, local produce, and international cuisine. The town itself is charming, with narrow cobbled streets, quaint cottages, and yet more amazing views.
Parking & EVC
Lanyon has parking for 2 cars, and a free charging point for electric vehicles.
- Please note: No smoking within the house, no pets and towels not for beach use.
